By far my favorite movie when I was a kid. I used to have a cowboy hat just like his in the movie. Just a great great movie and it still holds up really well today.

    RIP Mr Bandit.

BTW, Smokey and The Bandit is free on Amazon Prime right now.

I read and watched Deliverance for the first time a few years ago. Such a great movie. It might be the oldest movie of his I've seen.

Wow. Didn't realize he was almost James Bond, Han Solo and Michael Corleone...

Smokey And The Bandit will be enjoyed for decades to come, I predict.

I had seen parts of Deliverance on Saturday afternoon cable TV now and again over the years but never really understood the story until I read the book.

Deliverance fans might enjoy the song "Uncle Frank" by the Drive-By Truckers.

And I've always wondered how much the movie Smokey And The Bandit helped Coors beer sales then, and maybe still today. Probably not as much as it helped GM/Pontiac, but a good amount, I'll bet.

Really sucky news to hear on the radio at work this morning.

Loved pretty much every car movie he was in, Cannonball Run 1-2, Smokey 1-3 and a few more obscure ones. Have seen Deliverance in the past decade, but will have to watch it again as don't remember it too well.

The laugh, the constant slapping of Dom Deluise's face (watch out Dom, he's coming to get you!) and so on.

    R.I.P.

I see you omitted Driven. Just an oversight I'm sure.
