I've been wanting a good third party FF1 platform for ages.
I've used www.fantasyGP.com last season and did plan on doing so this season, to the point where I've already setup a league.
Whoever is doing the spreadsheet, would everyone be happier just letting another site take the load?
That'd be me, and yes, I'd absolutely go for a proper league.
"Coming soon" with a week to go doesn't sound promising for 2018, though.
With how inactive some of our members are I don't think the auction idea would work if we waited until after winter testing.
So for now we're stuck with this unless someone else wants to throw up a league within the next seven days.
edit; oh, wait didn't see that there was a second link that's ready
Can't access the 1st link and my company denied me access to the 2nd link.
As for bidding in auctions... as long as you set a deadline, whoever the highest bidder wins. Simple as that. As for the bid loser, he can either make another selection or just be assigned the next fastest the driver that his team can afford. (assuming this inactive user failed to realize that he lost his driver!)
Maybe we can try that next year. It does sound fun in theory, but I can imagine it causing a lot of headache for balki.
Wait, so are we not doing it in here? But in another group?
I thought we were going to do this as usual, here, easy and with no much work to be had.
Can I pick yet?
Guess this draft order idea wasn't so great.
Yes, you can pick.
The draft period is over (I'll go last since I made up the #'s numbers).
We're like the real FIA/F1; we have all these ideas but never agree upon them, let alone in time to do anything about it.
Whether we do anything else this year or next I'd like to still have at least one simple league where you pick once at the start and just follow for the season. Not just saying it from an administrative standpoint either; Dave ran the league for most of the first 10 years or so.
I thought it was a good system.
Maybe calling it a draft was the problem.
We just determined preference for duplicates based on previous years finish order.
