6 titles for Hamilton now. What a career!

2 more to break the record... which should be doable if Bottas 3.0 don’t mess it up!
Also not sure how Ferrari or RB will improved...
If he could win 8, then he’ll be the undisputed greatest ever!!!
Actually I’m willing to rate him higher than all past champs so far... surpassing Senna.
Magnussen says he notified the team the brake pedal was long all race long. Team duly noted and checked: they did not find anything wrong and temps were good.
Then the accident: one of the brake disks exploded.
Magnussen terse radio message to the team "I told you".
Have to ask Cuda to see if drivers could really feel micro-cracks on discs...
I suppose it's very possible.
I'm pretty sure Vettel probably felt something was odd with his suspension seeing him dropping back and even overtaken by a McLaren!!! And eventually the suspension exploded too...
These micro fractures are probably very difficult for engineers to detect especially during race weekends when you don't really want to dismantle everything in order to take closer looks...
In a car that connected you can feel everything. They would feel even more if you got rid of power steering.
I wouldn't know. The only brake issue I experienced was pads not lasting to the end of a race, or brake system going beyond its thermal capacity. It's not fun when you hit the pedal and not much happens. Fortunately, like KMag, I had a ton of runoff room.
The Kvyat/Perez incident is interesting. On the one hand, to Kvyat's point it does read a lot like Max/Charles in Austria. Inside driver goes for a lunge, runs a bit wide, the cars make mild contact while side by side, outside driver gets pushed off track. Penalty for Kvyat but not Max. There might be 2 reasons for this that I see: #1, Kvyat's attack was probably a huge surprise, more last-second and unexpected than Max's attack on Charles. #2, Kvyat's contact with Perez looked that bit more spectacular and can be seen as being more out of control. If you watch Kvyat's onboard even after the incident he's sliding the car all over the place, driving it beyond its limits but controlling it.
It seems like a little bit of a gray area, a subjective call to be made. The FIA has long held that it's perfectly acceptable for an inside car to push an outside car clean off the track -- see also Albon/Norris in Japan this year. Sometimes I wonder what the racing would be like if the overtaking rules were different - for example, if drivers were required to leave room for another car if there is any amount of overlap present (including once inch of front wing endplate overlap on the rear tyre of the car in front).
Yeah, as much of a fanboy I am of Max, that overtake on Charlie Boy really shouldn't be acceptable. You shouldn't squeeze somebody off track in order to complete your pass. Just didn't seem right.
But then again, the front running car really shouldn't leave their door open like that and inviting aggressive racers to come in and push you off in the 1st place.
I can certainly understand why it's a gray area..., but to be consistent, Kvyat really shouldn't be penalized.
I will say that the Max pass tended to look worse than it was because Charles turned down on him at the crucial moment...in my eyes to try to draw the penalty.
