Mercedes F1 team didn’t reinvent the wheel as if their engineers never seen the wheel before. Surely things could influence each other and we build on what worked well.

But who laid the foundation for its success? It can be debatable but I’m pretty sure most would credit Ross Brawn, right? Mercedes with all the money in the world won’t be able to buy F1 success without him assembling the right team. Of course the team also hired personnel and copied ideas from other teams, but only a proper foundation could help the team flourish like that.

And should a championship winning team make radical changes every season that go against Brawn’s philosophy? Of course not!

Should a championship winning also make absolutely no changes because they’re on top already? Of course not!

I don’t get why you guys believe JBP is against social change... he does dislike SJW... and believes kids right off of college should explore or gain more experience rather than get too involved with political activism right away. Seriously, what do these kids know? Do they have own lives all sorted out?

If you are a gun violence survivor or someone directly involved with the issue, I can understand. Or if you are really passionate about politics... then go ahead and win a congressional seat and make a difference and learn on the job like AOC.

I also don’t think JBP would have any issues with Dr King kind of non-violence political activism. Plus, Dr king wasn’t just a kid anymore and even if things fail, you know he’s not going to start rioting.

In a way, you can’t blame angry and hurt folks for rioting when their oppressors just wont change. But riots or suicide bombing will only end up hurting everyone... we need to find more balanced ways that can help make everyone happier. And try not to think of any group of folks as dicks.

And thats where I see a guy like Peterson as bad, he denies others access to these basic human needs that he already has. In fact he goes out of his way to push them down.
You mentioned "love and truth" - I dont see either in what he says, I see fear, disrespect and hated
Can you help me understand why you think JBP is like that? What did he say or do? The person you’re describing just isn’t the JBP I know.

Anyway, I personally have no problem with Star Trek version of socialism. No hunger, free healthcare, but pecking order is still there. There’s equal opportunity and rights... captains chair is available to all, regardless of race, gender, species... you just need to be the best life form for the job! In the end, only one life form can sit in that chair and assume command. They can’t all be the captain.

So I personally don’t have any issue with socialism as long as it’s not too extreme, but we do have to be careful how we practice socialism though. Are we really sure we won’t end up with bunch of Lt. Barkleys around? Not taking his job seriously and end up wasting too much time in the Holodeck? I’m not even sure if I won’t end up like him... considering how many hours of my life wasted playing GT and posting on this forum...

Take universal basic income for example. Liberals proposed that out of good intentions for unneeded people in the future..., but conservatives believe in making their own living. They don’t want to become unneeded... accepting such income is basically admission of their uselessness. They don’t like that!
Now, I don’t know why they hate universal healthcare... probably because they fear lack of competition in a single payer system may stifle medical advancements? Let’s see few decades down the road, if more medical advances were made in US or in Scandinavian countries...

US healthcare for average Americans is for sure pretty screwed up, but if you look at top 30 hospitals around the world, US hospitals dominated the list. I saw no Scandinavian nor Aussie hospitals. There’s one or 2 Canadian hospital though... so we don’t want to count socialism out completely!

But anyway, I thought Obamacare isn’t a single payer system and a good compromise, yeah, it’s not perfect so conservatives are free to come up with something better. In this incidence, I can agree with you that they’re just whining for no good reason. For sure our current system isn’t the best compared to others..., and healthcare costs continue to balloon out of control... so status quo isn’t working, they have no solution for a fix and yet they continue to block liberals efforts... that I really have no explanations of what theyre thinking other than crazy partisan politics... perhaps if only we coined it Romneycare, conservatives would embrace it more?

Anyway, neither side is perfect and yes, each side pulls the other side back. However, this pullback may not ALL be motivated by selfishness though. Conservatives are just more traditional and orderly... liberals are more creative and freeflowing. We need proper balance of both in order to grow properly. All conservative society will just be too boring and all liberal society will just be too chaotic. I personally see JBP as centrist... and he self identifies as classic British liberal... whatever that means... somehow due to our different political orientation, we see a different JBP.

I found this podcast clip of Russel Brand with JBP. There's even a link of full podcast linked on the bottom. I think it'd be beneficial for anyone interested to listen to them directly in order to gain a better picture of what JBP is really like. I wish people of different political views could all have level headed and intellectual conversations like the 2 of them:
