Ferrari to LM in top class for 2023

    http://www.dailysportscar.com/2021/0...from-2023.html

Ferrari has confirmed that the world famous brand will enter the Hypercar class from 2023 with a car built to the LMH rulebook, effectively confirming that their programme is focused on the FIA World endurance Championship and, of course, the 24 Hours of Le Mans (which in 2023 will be in its centenary year).

Did not see that coming at all. I figured they were blowing smoke, as always.

    OoooooOOOOOOOOOooooooohhhhhhhhh

This is exciting. There's no way in HELL that they would enter the LMDH class using some dirty second-rate loaner chassis from those pleb manufacturers.

Since they are going the LMH route, this is going to be a bespoke Ferrari racing car with road units for sale, and (I'm calling it now) it'll be given a P designation. Do you reckon they will develop a new V12 for it? That would be lovely.

If you can get your hands on a road car, hang onto it, because in 30 years time it will be worth millions.

Marketing and probably to sell road going variants for ridiculous sums of money.

I'd agree, marketing, but also to help the company in the long run. Ferrari is really ramping up their hybridization, so to have something they can develop in-house would be beneficial.
