The vibe I'm getting about the Russell situation is that nobody expects him to not be back in F1 for 2022 if he's out of a seat in '21.

It's not like Vandoorne or Pic who left F1 to never return.

Ferrari is already firmly holding two seats in F1 for 2021 for Giovinazzi and Mick Schumacher, in Alfa Romeo and Haas.
Also Giovinazzi has been confirmed in lieu of his performances, even if it could sound odd: it is the driver in the actual season that has not lost any position from the starting grid ones and the one with the most positions gained during the season: 35.
EDIT: Almost forgot, Mazepin is signing with Haas, alongside the obligatory Schumacher teammate.
Perez is almost signed with Williams at the expense of Russell.

Mmm... Silly Season is getting interesting, indeed. Major factor being Red Bull having no engine for 2022.

It appears Renault want top French talent alongside Alonso, and that means Pierre in, Esteban out. But in the complicated world of F1, and with Ocon being managed by Wolff, it seems he could be loaned to Williams instead of Russell.

I'm reading both Russell and Latifi might be out of Williams.

Haas is supposed to have an all new lineup, with the aforementioned Schumacher paired with a Russian driver. Maybe Torro Rosso is starting clean, as well?

If Russell leaves Williams, where does he go?

I'd be ok with Mick being in a Haas

    Rogro confirms exit from Haas.

Steiner wants Giovinnazzo for their Ferrari seat, as it is expected that other seat goes to son of Russian oligarch. Analysts think it'd be better for Mick to be paired with Kimi at Alfa.

While on the subject of the Schumachers¹, who's mentoring Mick? I was under the impression that Ralf was guiding David Schumacher's career.
