No pressure: Mercedes won't let Russell get over Bottas and I'm amazed you are seriously considering that.
Unless Valtteri makes another turd of a race like the last one or he finds himself out of contention... Mercedes will work out in order to secure Bottas' second place in the drivers' championship, and Russell, as a professional, will comply, surely.
Obviously that does not mean that Russell could not embarass Bottas meanwhile, but...
As usual, this ain't Indycar, for better or worse.

Obviously I am more referring to Qualifying. And of course it would be nice to see him on Bottas' ass in the race...they won't let him pass but we all will know who is faster in that case.
Agree with you both.
I think Russell needs to polish his raceday skills, and that's a tall order in the Williams. I expect him to beat Bottas on Saturday and then come to terms to big team procedures on Sunday. I think he'll struggle a bit, but not enough that he won't be able to help Bottas stay clear of Verstappen.
That said, it looks bad for Williams that they relented their best chance of points at the "easiest" of tracks for their underperforming car. I suppose they think that Haas is only bringing one car to the race as well.
acket.
If Max wins both of the remaining races, it’d be mathematically impossible for Bottas to keep his overall 2nd place.
Best strategy is to have both drivers do their best preventing Max from winning rather trying to keep the 2nd MB driver behind Bottas.
And now for the misty-eyed moment:
acket.
Sorry, I don't get this photo...
Is it the guy in the red suit a race winner being ignored because of LH?
Or is that little kid in the green jacket actually George Russell?!?!?
For some reason I thought there was only one race left...stupid me.
