For whatever reason the R number isn't widely reported, but the estimate I see for LA county is 0.89 and 0.88 for California. Still declining, but yeah, I'd be pretty thrilled with 0.5.

    Finger crossed…

Government really should’ve used some sort of measure like R# as targets and so that the public could monitor that and know where we are…

And yet we as a nation seem to be so overwhelmingly against immigration that it's unfathomable that these stats are correct.

It truly is a very vocal minority that are flying the racist flag here. But that is a discussion for another thread.

I really do believe sometimes you white people are a bit too hard on yourselves… for sure white supremacy is not good… however, you do have to also consider how pro immigration other non western nations are… pretty sure they can be pretty racist too if way too many outsiders move in their country too.

Anyway, after DN’s stats, I suppose it’s clearer now why Aussie govt would leave their own brown citizens hanging… some racism is probably there when they made that decision… Neanderthal would probably now be mad at the other side now?

Would you believe that all of my great grandparents were born in Australia?

Imagine having 1000 generations of ancestors who lived in Australia.

That's not possible. Australia wasn't even discovered until 1606.

    Possible but unusual.

My mums side all my great grand parents born here.
Dads side only he was born here, both his parents were from UK.

I have quite a few friends who were not born here, came here as kids, typically parents came for the Snowy Scheme.

Hey, just saw that Canada has broken even with the US when it comes to at-least-first-shot vaccination rates, that's good news.

Also, the incentives are finally starting to pop up here, by getting vaccinated this weekend at some LA sites you get entered into a raffle for Lakers season tickets.
