I made a mistake last time around, I gave Gasly 28 points for his wins, which although a case could be made for those extra two points out of the sheer of emotion, it's not in the regs.

    Numbers have been updated.

For a few races last year Ferrari had a huge straight line performance advantage over everybody else, even Mercedes. I sure am curious if there was something else going on, too, but we may not know until someone writes a book years from now.

My theory has been that Ferrari designed its 2020 car around the power unit performance level they had at their peak in 2019, and created a 2020 car that had a lot of downforce but was also draggy. Then the undisclosed pullback on their PU performance caught them with their pants down with a more or less finalized 2020 car and covid shutdown. All Ferrari-powered teams are performing pretty poorly this year, too, and Haas is no longer complaining that they don't understand their car or tire deg.
So if the fuel flow sensor measures at, say 20Hz, A V6 F1 engine revs up to around 12,000 RPM. it will rev higher but gains above that are negligible so they don't bother. The Engine completes a full rotation 200 times a second at 12k RPM. Lets call it 8k, the working range. 133.33 revolutions per second. it's a four stroke V6, 133.33 x 6 = 800 cycles across the whole engine, per second. That gives 40 revolutions per second where they can increase the fuel flow. I think. It's certainly not to be sniffed at with the revs they pull. At least I think my maths are right, they're probably not, but the theory is sound. They could have been running at a much higher fuel flow for 30-60% of the time.

F1 doesn’t have fuel limit? Or people finally got suspicious when Ferrari always ended up using way more fuel than other teams?

Why do you think their engineers are always reminding drivers to lift and coast, and to "push to drink".

I found this older article today that explains more about the fuel flow sensors. Pretty impressive!

    https://www.racefans.net/2020/03/16/...liasing-trick/

"The fuel flow meter measures the rate of flow very quickly – 2,200 times per second. However it remained theoretically possible for teams to deliver fuel to the meter in a sufficiently precise way that it appeared to be flowing at a slower rate that it was.

One technician consulted by RaceFans estimated the potential power gained from aliasing could be as much as 50bhp."

I am tempted to rebuild the tool used to track this in Google Tables, but it would likely end up more complicated than necessary and the limit on rows of data is low...

Edit: that's maximum rows, not total rows, might be ok...
Get that weak shit off my track
