I am loving seeing the professional Supercars racers absolutely sending it in iRacing. This week they visited Bathurst for three races, plus a top-ten shootout to determine the grid for race 1. Guest driver was Will Power in the Verizon Mustang. Here's a clip of the noisy car-slug being dragged over the mountain, complete with the usual Supercars commentary team on Fox sports.

Of course the flip-side is watching these guys, who are obviously good at driving, suddenly having to struggle with getting their heads around PCs and sim racing equipment.

Case-in-point is Rick Kelly, a veteran of the Supercars series, who has built a pretty mean rig out of pine offcuts. He started with a meme-worthy Logitech G29, a sheepskin wheel cover, and a 24" monitor, but then scored some better gear off his sponsor LG (3x 55" OLED screens thank you very much) and some racing hardware from Simworx. I love that he has kept the wheel cover and the deck chairs that he started all this with

Pretty cool to see Rick making his own gear like that, and how he said it's now even closer to the real thing. Weird to see heel & toeing on a simulator though.

And the clip of the racing, it's almost like watching the real thing. Cars sound and move the same ways, same camera angles, same commentators.
