Here's a video detailing the M3 Competition and M4 Competition.

The grille looks so much better in black, with no chrome highlighting it. But they went and put the big 4 Series grille on the M3, which makes me sad.

Something else about the M3: from the A-pillar back, it looks like just a big lump of saloooooon and it looks dated as hell by now. They really need to update the roof line of the car. Next to the sleek 4 Series coupe it looks boring, especially from a side profile.

Interestingly, the 2020 3 Series has a grille that suits the dated look of the roofline much better than the grafted-on 4 Series front of the M3.

I suppose this is what you get when you hang on to a handful of design features and stick with them for your whole history. It's an interesting challenge they set for themselves, and sometimes it wins, sometimes it fails.

Carfection likes it. My take away is that it isn't the best M3/4 of all time. Turbo engine and lack of proper manual (in the UK)? Bah!

So the wait for a new M4 CSL begins.

I tried to fix it....I mean it can't be any worse right? Also, the headlights feel very Alfa Romeo to me

I’m always surprised when an automaker doesn’t design the front of their car to naturally have a place for a license plate

Henry had the most glowing review.

Harris & Pistonheads didn't like it as much.
