From a purely personal level, I just love this forum for whatever unknown reasons...

If money is the main issue, please let us know how much does it cost to keep this forum up. Let's all chip in something in some sort of fundraiser?

Random’s loaded doesn’t mean the next server owner’s gonna be loaded too!

It would be an interesting project to try to make the forum a little more modern. This board has held up remarkably well considering its PHP underpinnings, it's really easy to write insecure code with PHP. It'd be fun to see if there might be cost savings around that, though I doubt the cost to run the board is exorbitant.

That said, any screwing around I'd do would be with the idea that nobody using the board would really be able to notice a difference.

So are there any other potential candidates besides dodint and Swervo?

I vote for Swervo! I like the idea of knowing somebody is secretly screwing around behind the scene... makes visiting this forum just a bit more exciting!

Well, I'm more than happy to share responsibility, I just think it'd be fun to see what kinds of deals we could get on domain registration, how much the hosting costs now vs. moving to something like AWS or GCP, how hard it'd be to port part or all of the website to something like Go, which might allow us to get away with way less compute hardware for the same performance, and gettin' some of that sweet, sweet HTTPS action.

You're not doing your third party thing again, are you? Did you not learn your lesson with Trump?

What can I do if I can’t find no 3rd candidate?
