Some of you may have seen in Facebook, others may not. I got a new car. Et voila.

2015 BMW 428i Gran Coupe. In black. It’s my fifth black car in a row, but not to be choosy, when you’re after something in particular or need something in a hurry you can’t be too choosy!

BMW design has gotten a bit weird for me, but that car at least still looks very nice. Looks very modern and very BMW... and bottomline is that it looks good and not weird!

    Congrats!

Love the interiors in particular on that generation. Superb commuter experience. Congrats!

Life with a modern BMW can be kind of dull. Absolutely nothing of note has happened or gone wrong. I had to put more air into the rear tyres once to satisfy the OBC and it's over zealous monitors. I've filled up the screen wash a couple of times but other than that it's been faultless. It's got it's yearly Safety inspection (MOT in UK parlance) on Thursday but I'm not expecting anything untoward at all.

Average fuel consumption has been 30.344MPG and the price of gas here is proving expensive at £141 spent on Petrol last month. The Shift to E10 and a circa 10% loss in MPG doesn't help. It's due a service in March but I may stretch that out a little, I've only done 5k miles since I bought it and about 10% of that was the journey from picking it up to my house.

The unreliable BMW stigma never really had much substance behind it to begin with. Even our MINI has been a champ, we've had it for several years and all it has asked for is some new fuel injectors and a radiator (pinhole leak). It's 10 years old and has over 115k miles on it.
