I really dislike that you couldn't easily access the friends list. And you can't snap it to the side to see who is online. At least you will be able to snap it now. But, it still seems less intuitive than the 360's version to me. :shrug:
I'm not happy that my 500gb HDD is already 1/2 full just of updates and like 3-4 arcade games.
Really? I'm not sure what all I have on there, but certainly all the Games with Gold games and FH2 and I'm nowhere near 1/2 full (17% comes to mind). There's gotta be something else going on there. Maybe demos or trailers or something?
Cleaned it out last night.
Battlefield 4 = 35 gb. (Deleted)
Titanfall = 29 gb (Deleted)
Killer Instinct = 19 gb [Cam] Uninstalled [/Cam]
They must have been installing the full game to the HDD. Don't know how or why? I don't remember ever selecting that option.
Yeah, dude, *everything* gets installed completely. Disc or not.
I must have forgot that... Why? What's the point of having the disc then? 500 gb is going to run out real quick at ~20gb per game.
hmmm...I guess I'll just have to remember to delete everything when I'm done playing it. That will get annoying if I ever want to go back and play something.Both the Xbox One and PS4 require all games to be installed from the disc, due to the increasing size of games and the relatively low speed of optical drives. So both consoles have a feature that allows you to launch a game as soon as enough content is installed to begin running it, while the rest of the data continues to install in the background.
What's even better is that you still have the disc in the machine to play the game if you installed it from disc in the first place.
Supposedly both consoles are supposed to do some management for you, e.g., if you start running low on space it'll start removing games based on the last-played time, so the games you haven't played in a long time start getting removed first. It won't remove savegame data, just game content. Haven't gotten anywhere near the limit though.
I also know the PS4 makes it really easy to swap out the drive for something bigger/faster (I hear about a lot of people installing SSDs), not sure that the XBone lets you do that.
The Xbone lets you plug in USB3.0, self-powered external drives. Pretty much any size you want, AFAIK. It's something I will definitely be considering.
