All 323s were European. They were never imported by BMW, we only got the four cylinder 320s.

Damn, I know it ain't perfect but me loves 5spd E12's and a 528i manual is indeed a rare find these days. As bulletproof a BMW engine that's ever been afaik from my time working for BMW in the 80's & early 90's. If only I had use for a car and a couple grand lying around...
