It's so weird to me that the Dodge Dakota pretty much invented the mid-sized pick-up truck segment in the US market, and it went extinct while the compacts up-sized and carried on (Tacoma) or we brought back from the grave (Ranger, GM twins).

Ram 1500s dirt cheap after incentives probably didn't help the Dakota's reason to exist.

The later crew cab Dakotas sure got ugly, but those early ones look pretty good. I thought the Shelby Dakotas and the convertible ones were pretty cool too - not anything I'd want to own, but fun to see on the streets back then.

And I really liked the Toyota T100, at the time. Still do, but I don't see notice very many of them around anymore.

    Here's a 2WD version in nice condition.

    1998 Toyota T100 SR5 - Over 500 Vehicles to Choose From! - $9999

    Nice try with the floormats!

    1990 Volvo 240R wagon, 5 speed, turbo - $4000

"Volvo never made a 245R, but I did."

    1986 Nissan Stanza Wagon - Rare - $4000

    1986 Ford Saleen - $6300

    1954 Military M37 3/4Ton Dodge Power Wagon with snowplow - $8000

    1966 PLYMOUTH, factory Big-Block - $2995

    1995 F700 4x4 WaterTruck /Expedition Veh. - $6300

I bet this could be made into something a lot cooler.

    1972 Datsun 521 Pickup with G35 AWD swap - $6900

My Dad had a T100 before going to the Ridgeline.

That seems logical. If you want something smaller than a full-size truck and don't want to roll the dice with Ford/Chevy/Dodge (and apparently Nissan now, based on Frontier reviews), there aren't many choices.

The heat, A/C, and radio controls on that T100 are refreshingly simple. Replacing simple levers for fan speed and temperature selection with backlit digital screens was a move in the wrong direction, IMO.

I'd be all over that Fairmont. That Lesabre wagon is SCREAMING for a set of road wheels.
