I'm ok - nothing worse than a bit of road rash. It was a situation where traffic was moving slowly and I was going past it at low speed in the bike lane. I'm ALWAYS aware of the potential for danger in this situation if someone turns without notice, but on Friday I was beyond the point of committed at a side-street when the driver went "fuck this traffic" and turned left when I was level with him.
He stopped and was very apologetic, but would you believe he told me he's never even considered that a cyclist may be next to him so promised to check his blind spot from now on

And even if it's an old carbon roadie, you should probably replace it. We don't know what microscopic damage it might have suffered, and you could be doing 60kmh down a deserted country road and have a failure. No bueno.
