Of course it makes sense that the UK spelling would be predominant because it is the origination point of English.
It was complicated - the English guy who named it changed his mind and he went with "num" ending.
And America mostly used the "ium" spelling initially.
Anyway - both are acceptable, but only one is the official.
And its crazy that the pronunciation differs from the first syllable.
But hey - dont get me started on words like "solder" - that gave me much grief in the USA.
Yeah solder here is basically just “sodder”.
When I worked at ChickFilA it was Christian radio only. We kept track and determined that much like Christmas songs there are really only ten songs. They're just redone by every single group in the genre.How do you guys deal with an eight hour shift in a workplace with absolutely horrific music? It was almost magical when that station did their telethons and got turned off for the week or two it ran.
