And holy shit this is clearly a more common crime than I thought!
Funny as hell - and should have been worse - but I'd be worried that they'd be coming back for revenge.

Lot of them might not remember where they stole it from.

Honestly, they are stealing it from amazon, etc. Because they have to pay for the lost package
...and then re-ship it to the angry customer.
I see it as just another reason to buy locally.

Just for facts, yes, at least for cheaper items.
I ordered some cheap PC speakers once (~ $10) and it didn't show up, so I said I never received it, so the sent another one and received it....and like 3 weeks later, the other set showed up.
Yeah, you win some lose some. I’ve received multiple orders from amazon too and it costs them too much to ship it back so they just let you have it. Sometimes I wonder how they make money... I guess if they accidentally shipped you an extra iPad, surely they’ll want it back...
Also, nowadays they take a picture of the package at your porch so you know it’s delivered. If you claim theft, they’ll probably try to hide your package better for next delivery... as to exactly how many times we can do this... not sure, but surely there be a limit. Probably just refund you the money and ask you to leave them alone! And your address will be forever blacklisted by Amazon!
Amazon would pass the cost on though
