I do love them, and if I want my fix of driving my beloved GTE Porsche I will certainly try and line up some in the coming seasons.

Don’t worry Cam. I’m going to try get both of those ratings over 2000, so that means more road racing!

I've never seen a ranked oval race without a caution. I think I heard someone else say something to that effect also.

Yeah someone in voice chat said that at the end. But that's the 3rd or 4th one I've been in this week. I get full green flag runs all the time, except for tracks like 'Dega and Martinsville... two opposite ends of the spectrum!
The guys who I race with here are mostly Americans with very high ratings, so it's clean. My preferred racing time (between 5pm and midnight in my time zone) is between 3am and 9am your time, so that means there might only be one or two splits.
During popular racing hours there is usually 10 splits of C fixed. You can imagine how rough that might get.

After my experience with Dirt Oval, I realized it was simply the splits I was in. Inexperienced drivers make way more mistakes. Once I got my Dirt Oval iR above the starting default, 1320, the racing was significantly cleaner. It was like flicking a switch. I think the same thing will happen with Oval. I already got my Oval iR up to ~1700 from ~1100 in just a few days.
I decided to ignore my SR and just race. I will still race as safe as I can, but no more starting from the back just to play it safe.

I never bothered to take care of my oval SR. I take it as an inevitability that you’d lose a bunch in lower classes. Except for my C license. I farmed SR really hard in D and entered time trials just to get past it. From there it was nothing that I cared about too much. I finally earned my A licence a month ago after it hovering around the 3.0 mark for ages.
