I haven't even gotten to the desktop, just poked around the Metro stuff. Ha. I think installing Firefox is on tomorrow's agenda, so that I can sync my bookmarks. After that, I gotta look at some of the e-readers.

The IVSO case for the Venue 8 is meh. It's clearly designed for use in landscape only so it's kind of in the way in portrait mode. It'll protect the device in my bag, which was most of the point, though.

Then I will continue my hunt, or maybe take a risk on one of the keyboard cases... if I am going to add a certain type of inconvenience, I might as well get some benefit from it.

I think I have a dead pixel. Just one, single solitary mote of black right in the middle of the screen. Hmm.

I haven't seen a dead pixel in a long time! I'll talk to Amazon - they might very well exchange it for you.

I'm going to wait for Windows 9... I can skip 8 and 8.1; not anything I desire!

I think they will--what are the odds of getting another one? Heh. I'll see if it bothers me at all this week. I only noticed it because I was reading a book, and the black spot jumped out against the page background.

I have heard that dead pixels are inevitable, and that some places only replace if there is more than a few of them. Never gone through the process myself so I don't know.
