In fairness a medium sized croc is only, what, 12 feet long? Doesn't really stand a chance against the other critters

G'day, I think it's a freshwater, so it's not even that big (reports were more like 1m, not 4m)
It was in Mt Isa, where freshness are common.

But still amazing a snake would even go for something that could eat it.
My guess, this wasn't planned but they ended up together, got it on and winner eats free.
