    #OnThisDay [10/9/05] in 2005 Raikkonen took his finest victory, winning the #JapaneseGP with 1 of the greatest drives I've ever seen, forcing his way from P17 at the start to P2, then hurling his McLaren around the outside of Fisichella's Renault at Turn 1 on the final lap to win. Mighty.

    September 30, 1956, Asheville-Weaverville Speedway, 24 cars started the Convertible race, 7 were eliminated with mechanic failure, & 16 eliminated due to crashes, a 14-car crash ended the race on lap 181, Race Winner, Curtis Turner was the only driver with a car still running.

    With the sad news that the Donington Collection Museum is shutting, here are some pics from a recent visit. There is such a huge number of cars



    Unlike many ‘Visitor Experiences’ Donington has soul. I also loved that it was designed to look like a crankshaft for the benefit of East Midlands Airport flyers....
