Did a proper cross country in the TBM. Boulder to Seattle. Boulder's taxiways were a bit, er bumpy is kind. Anyway, everything went well up to cruise. AP works better* than before release, happily. Once in cruise, I let the AI take over ATC, and I went for a bike ride. When I came back is was just about time to descend. That all went fine. Then ATC cleared me to the approach, and when I tried to activate it, the GPS kept wanting it to start from the previous waypoint instead of where I was. So I went to HDG mode and Tried to go direct to no avail. So I kinda vectored myself to the transition, figuring it would then pick up the next waypoint. Nope. Finally I was ready to give up on the AP, and just fly it visually with the map when. CRASH.
Oh well, it'll get better with time.
For pretending I'm a corporate or airline pilot, I'll probably still be going back to X-Plane a lot.
For GA, it's fun though.
Now time to go fly a real plane.

I’m attempting to fly over Mt Everest from Lukla just at the moment in real time the sun is just rising in the east and oh my fucking god.
Now, I can see Everest just yo my right as I fly east but I’m not sure my little Beechcraft (which only just made it off the runway) can go that high, but it’s fun trying!

Heading north along I-15 just as it's entering southern Utah and climbing up towards St. George.

The sun catching the interior of the plane as the clouds picked up a nice shade of pink during the sunset on the way to Cable airport by my sister's house.

I’d post more screenshots myself but I’m playing in HDR and screenies come out all shitty in RGB and it’s a PITA to switch back and forth because it requires a game restart to display correctly.
I’ve also reduced my internal resolution scale down to 70% as I was getting choppy frames in dense areas. Still looks wonderful at 4K.

It really does show what leveraging modern graphics cards can do. With my same rig on P3D I struggled to get a decent framerate at 1080 that looked like absolute ass compared to this. Now this is running pretty smoothly at 4k looking incredible.
Not trying to disparage the P3D team or anything, but it's clear that you can only squeeze so much out of an old engine, a lot like the way we pretty much got every single little bit we could out of the Grand Prix Legends engine back in those days but it still looked horrid compared to racing games coming out after it.

I just did a non-stop flight in the Airbus - Coolangatta to Sydney
I've done that route a few times and it only takes an hour in real life.
Take off, get to cruising alt, set autopilot, pour a drink and enjoy the sunset.
Then when you land, figure out what the heck they mean when they tell you to taxi to gate 131 taxi B03 B C cross runway 45L... in the dark.

I stopped playing to have dinner a few hours ago and now the game is crashing on me when trying to load a flight and I can't get back in.
Fuck's sake.

Yeah, it's definitely buggy as hell.
In a perfect world, we'd just have X-Plane's planes and interface ported over to MSFS's graphics/autogen engine, with some kind of hybrid flight model
Also, they're missing a pretty popular small airport near me.
F45, North County Muni is very popular for students. It's not like it's just low quality autogen, it doesn't exist. Pretty surprising to be honest. They have a bunch of much smaller, private airports in the surrounding area, including Gwynn, which is just the private strip for Pratt & Whitney/Sikorsky, Right next to it.
