I wonder if the XBox model is fucked or something. The only car I can't control well is the old BMW turbo gt car.

That vid is me at Spa in the C7R in different conditions and it handled well. Especially considering I am terrible.

I've been trying to come to terms with it while the new-game-itis is strong.

I found this one on another forum, it doesn't work too bad.
Bear in mind that I think you need to account for tyre temperatures in the first couple of corners, and generally be gentle with the inputs.

I noticed Snetterton was among the tracks, and immediately flashed back to the early TOCA games, then realised this game kind of reminds me of those. Which makes it easier to persevere.

Also, have a look at the "Sakitto" track, I wish Forza would include it.

I bought the complete DLC pack last night. The '66 Mustang is as hard as the BMW 320. But the McLaren F1 long tail handles on rails. Just something about those older cars makes them a handful.

The Mustang Cobra Trans Am car is a hoot, but hard as hell to see out of. It has that goofy roll cage in front of the driver.

Just went down a rabbit hole and played for like 4 hours which is incredible for me. The first lap is so slick but when the tires green in it gets a lot easier.

I'm a bit bummed that some of you aren't having the best time with this game. I loved it when it was new and had a lot of good races with it, some of which I will share with you below.

I ended up liking my racing with almost no on screen UI or map, with only the car's dash and mirrors to guide me. I also raced in the driver's view and turned off the on screen man-arms so as not to distract me too much with the twitchy steering inputs. I'd love the opportunity to try the game with a proper steering wheel setup.

Here's a hectic Ruf-only race at the bumpy Oulton Park.

And an equally ridiculous night time lap of the Nurburgring against a field of GT3 cars. That Audi with CATCH ME IF U CAN! on the rear wing was taunting me the whole way. I nearly cashed it on the ousside on one corner. Boom.

This is a race against some online monkeys. I found a bunch of Aussies that played so the lag wasn't too bad. Ding-dong bare knuckle battle against a BMW ensued.

And lastly, a nice short video of a scintillating hotlap in a Formula C at Snetterton.

I race from the in car as well, unless it's a kart event.

The helmet cam is a very cool idea but overkill.

I'm not sure how i feel about it. Started off in a karting career but got bored after 6 events (to April or so?) so made a new profile and selected the Clio cup but gave up on that before i started and instead opted to try out free drive mode in a McLaren P1 around Bathurst and a few TOCA 2 tracks and the USA motorway one.

Then switched to a RUF, went on the Azure point to point long track, made it 40% through and gave up (well, my engine was blown and was missing the hood and nearly the rear bumper, but still).

With recommended controller settings it's still twitchy and slow to respond sometimes and yadda yadda. I can see the appeal i suppose, but i'd prefer more mainstream ones like GT and Forza so far.

I dunno, just bloody glad i didn't pay for it at this point. Haven't fully given up yet, so that's something at least. I also skipped all/most of the tutorial things where the lady reads stuff on the bottom of the screen, but i'm sure i haven't missed anything important.

EDIT: Sometimes get loading times of 30-60 seconds or more JUST by going into a menu in Options (like Controller settings, Audio, Display etc) and even if i back out straight away without adjusting anything, it takes half a minute or over a minute to get back to the previous menu.

    And when i started at the back of the field (before i adjusted AI difficulty - to 0/easiest possible, and changed controller settings) in a kart race one time, this happened;

Couldn't do anything until the race started. Restarted 2-3 times and same thing each time...

So... been putting in quite a bit of time with this game in the last week. Finding the right controller settings goes a long way. I just finished my second full season, and have been doing lots of filler races seasons.

The first season was in a Clio Cup car. I need to go back now that I've learned more about what they think suspension changes do. Tough car to drive fast, as it likes to swap ends.

The 2nd season was in a Ginetta G40 Junior. A car that should handle like a dream. Lightweight, low hp, and slicks, but tends to spin out under power coming out of corners. Managed to come up with a pretty good setup, abd even found out how to save a base setup so that I didn't have to put a tune in the car every single time I went to a new track.

After winning that championship, I got invitations for a shifter kart series, a vintage series, and a Road 'D' Entry series, which was essentially a Caterham spec series. The Escort 1600RS is a bit of a handful, but I'm slowly zeroing in on what it likes, and the Caterham has been fun. The 125 shifter kart, after reading almost every negative comment about it here and elsewhere, has been quite fun to run as well. Maybe I just hit on a setup right away, but I seem to be able to run pretty well with it.

We need to run a few races one if these night so I can see how online is.
