A new C6 Z06 was cheaper than this car, though you'd need to order some expensive upgrades to have the same running hardware as this Z28. Either way, doing value judgements based on used cars never comes out well for new cars.
One could even present the argument that it's financially illogical to actually buy a new car, especially when the first buyer has to pay the 20% VAT in the UK and you can buy a car 3 years old for half the price with only 30k miles on it - quite literally as good as new.

Yet if no one buys new, then no one can buy old. And when you're buying something like a Z06 or Z28, it's good to know how it was broken in and how well it was treated, and to have a warranty, all things a new car gives you.
