7.1 at the Mexico/Guatemala border. I imagine that bumped you around a bit, Mario?

Ask me about my bottom br
Didn't.feel.it.
I was getting the car out of the garage onto the street. No seismic alarm either, but that's because the triggers are on the Michoacán-Guerrero coast, not on the Chiapas side.

Today's was scary. It seemed to go on forever and it was quite noisy.

Good-sized quake near Napa just now--I've got some phone calls to make!
From twitter: "Oh god. What if we all die in an earthquake and the only people left to rebuild are the ones who went to Burning Man? #terrifying"

LOL
Didn't feel a thing here but I don't know if that's normal or just because I was asleep. I know on the east coast that a 6.0, even 500 miles away, would wake the dead.

What fresh hell is this?
California's geology is different. Earthquakes don't transmit energy as far as they do on the east coast. This is largely due to the fact that we have earthquakes with some regularity. The earth's crust is less rigid here than the east. There's no way we're feeling a 6.0 from the bay area in SoCal. Maybe an 8 or so could go that far.

My buddy in SF checked in with zero damage (or anything falling off the shelves fwiw).
