Ooooh, we can be Vitz RS buddies!

Baby kitty (one of her nicknames, even though she's oldish) on baby car (it's nickname, cos it's smaller than the rest of our fleet)

Mines still going strong, can get around 430-450 km's out of its 40l tank. Although i need to get the rear bushes (?) done or something, which is a rear axle out job? Something like that.

But yeah, took it around some tight twisty roads last week for the first time, and it speeds along at a very decent pace and corners very well, almost comparable to my manual Skyline. Love it. Wish i didn't need it as a commuter, as it would be a good motorsport car...

Or Clavia. Seen a few around with that badge.

In my opinion the first gen like ours is by far the best looking one of this model, the newer ones look too fat and ugly. The brand new ones look sharpish like the new Corolla but haven't had a good enough look at one yet to make a judgement.

All I've done so far is an oil change.

To do the oil change involved discovering that there was a rear hatch cover self tapping screwed into the under-engine plastics with about 10 self tapping screws. Thus explaining why I was unable to see the sump from under the car.

Have found a collection of horrors in the wiring so far, with quite a few things poorly attached together. So I will be getting an electrically useful friend to assist me sorting out some of those screw ups.

Bag of crap car is indeed being a bag of crap.

Make sure the horn (if its factory) isn't full of water like mine was. We put air horns in it so people actually pay attention instead of laugh when i beep it. When taking the old ones out the mount snapped off due to rust too, so if your Vitz is rust free you're a lucky man. Almost every single bolt etc in my engine bay is rusty.

The stereo "install" is particularly glorious. With the all the wires cut and held together with tape, and then the stereo jammed half heartedly into the gap where the original stereo (single din) and a compartment were previously living.

I should have taken some photos of the rear muffler. Will do so before it gets cut off and thrown in the bin. It's magnificent.

Headlights tidied up, so I can sort of see through the lense. Blue light bulbs thrown out, normal light bulbs fitted. Can now actually tell when the lights are on.

Picked up (another) set of Minilite replica wheels that I think should fit. Will give those a go, and see if it makes the car look less like arse.

Car has now been named the Toyota Shitz.

Need to give them a bit of a waterblast to remove a lot of mud from the wheels.

2,000km since the annual roadworthy & safe check (valid 12 months). Noice. The guy or girl who did that sign off really earned their money that day (sarcasm font).

You've still got a bit of material there, put it back on and get your money's worth of it.

That looks about 3-4 mm. Plenty of life left.
