They're a cheapie Chinese semi slick(ish - 190 treadwear), marketed under a couple of brand names. This one being "Blacklion". I've not tried them before, but a friend has recommended them strongly to me, and at the price of NZ$159 a tyre it's not much of a gamble, given that I'm going to guess that the Dunlop Z3 I'd run otherwise would be nearer $400 a tyre.

They won't be my normal road use tyres though, as I've picked up a set of the Evo X BBS alloys with some Michelin tyres on them. However they were bought at a distance so they're with a friend around four hours drive away at the moment. The Enkei's on the car are a bit heavier than the BBS wheels which will be on the car shortly (both factory wheels).

I used to get these Chinese made tires on the Tealbaru and they were awesome. They were called "Warrior" and from what I was told they were made by Michelin in China. No matter who made them they were cheap as hell, like $30 a tire and they wore great and provided great performance.

Much of the day to day tyres sold here are Chinese. This is my first try at a Chinese semi race tyre though.

Now on the optional BBS forged alloys, on good but very old road tyres.

Apparently these wheels are quite sought after, due to being the lighter of the two factory wheel options.

This is straight after I dropped the car down from the jack, so that's why it is a million miles off the ground in this photo.

I've bought a Toyota Corolla 2 Super Windy. Which is basically a Tercel hatchback, running an EFI 1330cc engine, and a four speed.

It's terrible, and I like it a lot. So it now has lowered springs and new shocks in it. Because it's rubbish, but I want to see how well I can autocross it on grass. I've managed like 8th overall from 40 in the first outing where it had no working suspension at all.

The Corolla rally car AE92 has had the air conditioning put back into it again, to try to combat my tendency to get heat migraines at almost every summer event.

Additionally, I've just ordered a close ratio gearset for it, which is a replica of the old TRD gearset, and is going to make the car a far less road friendly beast (try 4400ish rpm at the speed limit in 5th gear). Also the build cost for the gearbox is going to be about the same as the resale value of the entire car. So it's just layering stupid decisions on top of each other these days. Oh yeah, and I've been sitting on a new old stock TRD plate diff for this car for a few years.
For context I'm currently running a stock 6speed with a torsen diff.
I'm currently very competitive in my class on gravel, and the hope is that this gearbox build will lead to some much better results for the car.

Photos of car at stock height. It only got the suspension yesterday, so I've no new photos. Oh, and also, the car is so ugly, I don't know I have taken a single photo of the car. All the supplied photos have been taken by other people.

Amusingly, I am far more excited about the Windy, than I am about the Evo 10.

When I had my Escort, I had a 4.44 diff. Made passing great, but with only a 4 speed, it screamed at 100km/h, so much so I used to wear earplugs on a road trip.
It used to sit around 4500-4600 @ 100, revved out to 7000rpm.

With the value of cars skyrocketing, I've listed the Evo X for sale at a fairly steep price. Partly because this car was always intended partly as an investment, and partly because I have four cars, and somebody offered me a 5th car.

2 cars is the right number for me. 4 is too much. 5 is just stupid.

Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.
