Just drawing comparisons where available.
Not too bad...
...oh.
Eh, the torque boxes held the jacks and the jack stands so I'm going to assume that there's still enough intact metal there to support 250ish RWHP (which is my initial off-bottle goal).
There is *so* much going wrong with the rear-end, it's another rabbithole on its own: new driveshaft (as you can see the u-joint is a push-in, no replaceable snap rings), leaking diff needs disassembly, 4.10's, powdercoating, needs the axle tubes welded, 31-spline axles, upper and lower control arms & bushings... maybe narrowing the axles/axle tubes? Narrowing the solid axle parts & labor can easily eat $1000, another $300 for an aluminum driveshaft, $250 for control arms... sheesh.
But I have nearly two more years to think about it and save up for it (this coming winter I will be focusing on pulling the motor & trans) and it's all far cheaper than buying a new one so...!
Should have just bought a car that had all that done already.
*grin*
A New Edge Mustang that's been properly set up and not throwing codes is worth twice what I paid. #shrug
I wish I cared enough about Mustang variants to go to war with you on the pre-New Edge v. New Edge SN95 front, but I don't. Would be a fun rivalry/running gag. I'm just happy to not have an S197 or a Fox body.
Understandable -- you're a Cobra owner. Upper echelon, y0.
Nah, us Cobra drivers all have Cobra R envy. There is always something left to aspire to.
