Star Wars Battlefront II (not 3, heh!) will release on November 17th.
Not coming to Switch. Sorry Keith.
Pre-order players will be granted extra content and a list of buffs fit to make anyone who refuses to turn to the dark side and pre-order (like me) feel slightly miffed.
I mean, it is published by EA after all.

Trailer:
This title will have a proper single player story where you play mainly as an Imperial special forces character, but switch to other Rebel or Imperial characters at certain points.
Criterion (famous for the Burnout series) was brought on board to help with vehicle-based controls and combat.
I'm still hoping for a release of the fourth Rogue Squadron game that was meant to come out on Wii before Factor 5 imploded.
I just know that the code for the near-complete title exists on a dusty unused server somewhere in Disney's storage warehouses after being scavenged from the offices of LucasArts.
The SW Battlefron II open beta has been detailed. You won't have to pre-order to get access, but if you do you get two extra days.

EA, via the PlayStation Blog, has announced the details of the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta, which begins in early October.
The open beta kicks off on 6th October, but you can play two days early by pre-ordering the game. It ends on 9th October.
The beta lets you play Galactic Assault on Naboo. This is a 40-player battle on the streets of Theed. You choose from four trooper classes: Assault, Heavy, Officers and Specialists. Of course there are Star Wars heroes and prequel-era vehicles up for grabs, too.
Also available is multiplayer Starfighter Assault. This lets you take part in a space battle set during the original trilogy era. You pilot various Star Wars ships in an objective-based, multi-stage battle. Expect more on this at Gamescom in August.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 comes out 17th November 2017.
New Starfighter Assault gameplay trailer:
I'm definitely going to participate in the open beta on Oct. 6th.
If I like the action, I'll buy this time around -- the game comes out two weeks after the xXx launches after all.
EDIT: There's some rumormongering about 4K @ 60fps... probably with dynamic scaling tho'.

Some gameplay. They really nail the audio.
Yeah I was heartily impressed with the sound design on their first BF. Everything sounds so full and meaty. That continued with Battlefield 1, but the difference being that most sound effects were sampled from genuine equipment, which is hard to do in SWBF because lightsabers and X-Wing laser cannons don't exist. It might be one of the most underrated things that they do at Digital Illusions.
