Cardio for your heart, but really weight/resistance training is needed for strong bones. Also, mainly to keep one functionally moving in society. As in all things, a healthy mix of both, plus eating well is the key. Just my two cents.
Hmmm...I want strong bones.
Yeah, but, you can only do one cock push-up.
This is pretty accurate. A good balance is key.

"Eat less, move more" is in fact what needs to occur for long-term weight loss. The problem is, its vagueness is a major barrier to acting on it. A step up while maintaining simplicity would be, "Eat less junk, eat more whole food, drink more water, sit less, resistance train."

While I have some lighter weights, and a Universal Machine at home, it's not the same as heavy lifting, squats, deadlifts, etc... It's been six months now, since the gyms have had a limit of more than 10 people, or just been closed altogether. Of all the things that I miss during Covid, it's the gym being open.

I am so, so SO happy I built my home gym JUST before Covid hit. Not just for the no-public-gyms reason, but because all the equipment immediately became unobtainable and cost a fortune.
I've seen some people make do with heavy carries using bags full of books and stuff, things like that. Hell, even seen a bunch of people make equipment out of cement or wood.
This is basically the running thread, right?
I'm now being bullied into running an Ultra-marathon 56km trail run in the local hills. Sigh.
