    80's music videos

Right, so on Friday I'm having some friends over for a nostalgia evening.

I thought a cunning plan might be, have a playlist of iconic 80's music video's as background on the big tv.

A quick look for torrents isn't really showing up anything useful.

Is there anything I can use to download vids from youtube (using Chrome). I know there used to be when I was using Firefox, but I've since changed browsers.

This is one occasion where it'd have actually been useful if I had a laptop that talked to my TV, or a smart TV. Sigh.

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

aTube Catcher works. Albeit inconsistently (you have to sometimes do multiple trys to get one video, sometimes it's like voodoo, of the good kind). But it works. It gives you multiple choices of what file to get, I usually do not transcode, I let it get the highest quality available file, and voila. If you don't have those funny bandwidth limitation schemes you people in the western pacific are so fond of, then get it in HiDef, yo!

Works beautifully, virus-free (if you're sure to "custom install" and uncheck all the boxes).

If you don't mind forking over a small amount of money, Replay Media Catcher works pretty well for grabbing youtube and other videos. Hell, you could probably warez it, then use it to pirate youtube! Double whammy!

bahahahhahaha, thanks for the advice all, I've located quite the torrent of 80's goodness (or badness, according to your tastes)

Sportwagon: I had an issue where Firefox would crash my laptop to the point where you almost needed to take the battery out and smash it against the wall to restart it again. So I uninstalled at that point

Oh. I thought only mobile versions of Firefox were that bad.

Plus even if you went back to Firefox, you might never find the same plugin you'd stumbled on before.
