I saw an interesting tweet from Popehat. At some point, someone will file a lawsuit because the president and his cabinet aren't supposed to use their position to promote products like that. His guess at their defense is that it wasn't actually an attempt to promote the product, it was just to "rile up the libs." I'll be interested to see if that's how it plays out.
Aside: I think it's interesting how often the idea of "owning" or "triggering" the libs is mostly just us making fun of them.
Oh well, guess that's the end of that...
Supreme Court allows Florida to require ex-felons to repay fees before being allowed to register to vote.
In a 6-3 vote the US Supreme Court declined to change Florida's voting rule that would allow convicted felons in the state to vote if they haven't paid all their court fees, fines and restitution.
Are there really a so many ex-felons that could turn Florida blue if allowed to vote?
Democrats really first need to reform the criminal justice system 1st, rather than fight for all ex-felons to vote.
Voters have no power to actually reform the criminal justice system. If you’re serious about winning black votes, help them not be arrested and jailed unjustly 1st.
Just try to win more votes from regular citizens. Trump may need to resort to attract racist voters, Democrats really shouldn’t need the support of ex-felons in order to win.
[edit] ok, just found out that there are potentially a million ex-felons in Florida... I guess that’s a significant #...

Edited: Ginsburg is getting cancer treatment again.
*fingers crossed*"On May 19, I began a course of chemotherapy (gemcitabine) to treat a recurrence of cancer. A periodic scan in February followed by a biopsy revealed lesions on my liver. My recent hospitalizations to remove gall stones and treat an infection were unrelated to this recurrence.
Immunotherapy first essayed proved unsuccessful. The chemotherapy course, however, is yielding positive results. Satisfied that my treatment course is now clear, I am providing this information. My most recent scan on July 7 indicated significant reduction of the liver lesions and no new disease. I am tolerating chemotherapy well and am encouraged by the success of my current treatment. I will continue bi-weekly chemotherapy to keep my cancer at bay, and am able to maintain an active daily routine. Throughout, I have kept up with opinion writing and all other Court work.
I have often said I would remain a member of the Court as long as I can do the job full steam. I remain fully able to do that."

We said "the Supreme Court is on the line" in 2016.
Here we are.
