Fuck… really?
That is utterly ridiculous.
Classic neolib tactic. They’re doing the same with the ABC in Australia. Stacking the management with Liberal Party cronies, while at the same time it’s being attacked in mainstream media for having a lefty bias.
It’ll be sold off to Rupert Murdoch within five years if it keeps up.

Kanye West has lost his mind, (again). I saw clips of his rally today, and it was cringeworthy at best. He made questionable claims about Harriet Tubman and even broke down crying talking about his daughter. It was kind of sad to watch. He seriously needs mental help.
I actually thought he dropped out of the race, according to something I saw earlier in the week. I guess not. Hopefully he does soon.

Relaxing and enjoying life
and the insanity just keeps on coming:
@wildstein
The husband and son of U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas were shot this evening after a gunman dressed as a Federal Express delivery driver entered their North Brunswick home. Her son is dead; her husband in critical condition.

Judge Salas was assigned the civil case suing DEUTSCHE BANK over relations to JEFFREY EPSTEIN only four days ago.

As much as I love a good conspiracy theory, looks like it was your garden level "misogynist hates his mom and all other women" thing. https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-ne...istic-n1234408

Kinda feels like this could go in either this or the pandemic thread, but given that the Times filed it under "politics", I figured I'd follow their lead.
Inside the Failure: 5 Takeaways on Trump’s Effort to Shift Responsibility
Notable thing in there for us Californians is that apparently in exchange for help with tests, Newsom had to call and personally ask Trump while praising him to get them.

America is probably leaning too far to the right and China is leaning too muc the other way.
Neither is ideal.
It is kind of interesting that current super powers are these 2 asshole nations.
Nice places like NZ or Taiwan basically have very little influence over the rest of the world.

反重力
China is not left in any sense of the word. They are a state owned capitalist economy using the rhetoric of populism and an iron fist to squash opposition.
The US is a capitalist owned state with two parties that use the rhetoric of populism, and the illusion of choice to keep people in line if they are rich enough, otherwise an iron fist to squash opposition
