Roughly, 2 of every 7 paragraphs from his thesis for becoming a lawyer are clearly plagiarised.

I am enraged that going as far as 25 years ago, the man responsible for leading my country (with far more constitutional powers than most democratic heads of state), has always used these shortcuts with no penance.

I'd say he did a pretty good job to have gotten away with it for 25 years. But, what consequence is it now really?

If the president's wife is a copy cat, I think I'm willing to give her a break..., but if a nation's leader has no integrity, then this nation is screwed.

Don't feel too bad though, US has plenty of politicians who lacks integrity... this is why USA is also in a downward spiral.

Unfortunately, integrity isn't something obvious and even if a particular politician is known to be very honest, it doesn't really help with his popularity. Most voters are sway by charisma... not integrity...
Charismatic politician who aren't very honest also are more prone to corruption...

Part of the reason why democracy isn't the most ideal way to run a country...
