I love me some EDM. Lori and I tune into BBC Radio One every Friday for the dance music marathon. You can even stream the shows after the fact from their web site, www.bbc.co.uk/radio1.

Ok - lately Ive been on a bit of a Rose Tattoo revival.
They are a Sydney band that was almost big in late 70s/early 80s. Held up as an influence in bands such as Guns N Roses.
Similar to AC/DC in that they are hard rock, nothing too complicated and just "loud enough". They were produced by Vanda and Young - the guys behind AC/DC (and the Young is George - older brother to Angus and Malcolm)

They are still kicking, I keep seeing them support/open for other bands - Angry must be getting on a bit (damn - google says 72)

They had hits with: Rock n Roll Outlaw, We Cant Be Beaten, Bad Boy for Love
But got plenty of good songs - Branded, Rock N Roll is King, Scarred for Life, Nice Boys.
I also like The Butcher and Fast Eddy - their ballad!

    Layne.

What a fucking tragedy. He should have done more work outside of AiC, that was a terrible environment for him, as a broken person. Mad Season is the tits.

Anybody know of a bootleg recording of him at his peak? Down in a Hole is a favorite, but the unplugged is too much to take.

Yeah, Layne was a real loss.
There's a good Mad Season album "Live at the Moore" if you don't have that already. And even though its a collection of a bunch of different timeframes and shows, I stand by the AIC LIVE album.
Somewhere in a box I've got a low-quality bootleg of his last show which I was at in Kansas City. I honestly don't think my cd is much better quality than the youtube below, but there's gotta be a soundboard recording out there somewhere based on the inclusion of a couple of tracks on the aforementioned LIVE.
