It is interesting to me how much things like the MCU and Fast and Furious, and um, Star Wars, I guess... series have SEEMINGLY carried theaters in a lot of ways (feel free to disagree) over the past few years.

In other words, people are often not going to theaters to see non-action blockbusters anymore, because those can be enjoyed at home more readily. People still wanted to flock to theaters to see the big action movies and to watch them before spoilers got out, etc. also.

It's a weird dynamic that we may not see the true outcome for a couple more years.

That would still probably mean a massive reduction of movies with budgets in the hundreds of millions. Initial reports of the Disney Plus Mulan release being a massive success were almost certainly wrong (the company whose data Yahoo said suggested $261 million in US sales says it was more like $62-93 million); Disney hasn't released numbers and is delaying other big releases.

Watched the Borat sequel. Pretty damn good! Not a lot of shock value stuff as in the first one, but still plenty of eyebrow raising moments.

    Spoiler:
Giuliani thing had to be staged, just like the Pam Anderson stuff in the first one.

Watched Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 11/9...not 9/11...11/9. A movie he made in 2018. I'll save the political stuff for the politics thread. The most important thing for me is how and why the hell did I never hear about this movie???

There's some serious Mandela Effect shit going on here.

Because most people got sick of Moore and his movies like 10 years ago.

Superstore is back again. A lightweight comedy that somehow manages to punch far above its weight class.
