A few weeks ago Paypal decided to offer trading of Crypto like Bitcoin and Litecoin, etc.

I decided to jump in and made some money....I was also looking at other super low priced crypto last week but didn't buy any (partially because it can be a major pain to set up). I saw specifically Dogecoin was trading at 0.003 (USD) per coin and considered buying it, but didn't.

LAST NIGHT it was trending on twitter and had risen to 0.007 ! I decided to jump in at that amount and now the $400-ish I invested is currently worth $730 as it's gone up over 0.013 and can go higher.

This is not investment advice, just something I noticed in case anyone else isn't aware. The cost is so low to jump in right now, it was worth trying it out for me.

I was wondering why my friend made a post about HODLING dogecoin yesterday when I hadn't seen it mentioned in years.

exactly and I was looking for news articles...apparently this run may have been at least partially pushed by a tweet by a p0rn star who has 1.3 million followers (didn't recognize the name tho).

Based on that information I'll add to my post from before:

That's the friend I was referring to. My memory of it is that years ago someone asked if they could subscribe to her site with dogecoin, and she said that she would look into it. That quickly lead to articles claiming that now you could buy porn with cryptocurrency, because hits. I *think* it even got mentioned on the morning radio show I listened to, but it was so long ago.

    *Googles* https://www.dailydot.com/debug/dogecoin-porn-reddit/

Shortly after that she posed in a doge shirt, and that was the last I remember her mentioning it until the aforementioned post. I always figured the NASCAR sponsorship was its biggest and longest lasting moment as far as coverage goes.

    Interesting.

2020 should’ve been a good year to bet it going down but you would’ve lost money...

    In today’s world, anything’s possible I suppose.

Has anyone here been paying attention to GME (GameStop)? It's gone up over 10,000% (100x) in less than a year.
At first it seemed to go from $3 to $20 because of fundamentals and optimism, but the run from $20 to $300+ looks like it's all from Reddit's WallStreetBets.

Has there ever been a short squeeze like that before?

Elon Musk's tweets tend to cause fluctuation in stock prices, intentionally or not.

If you actually own game stop, you should pocket the profits. If you don't own it, I would not recommend buying at this point.

These kind of waves are hard to catch. If you're already on it, enjoy the surf. However, not sure if we could really see these waves coming before it comes... unless of course if you're as influential as Elon Musk and have a tweeter account.

I saw something about that. Apparently the reason it rallied is because some investment bankers were going to invest in it’s dropping in price (I forget what that’s called) but people on Reddit said yeah nah fuck that and drove it’s price UP.

I didn’t know it went that crazy though.
