Trying to keep up with Jason
Drove home a no options Fiesta ST today. Ordered the car 3/9 and it was ready yesterday. The selection in DFW is slim and none and I don't fit in the Recaro seats (the thigh support is too tight) so I ordered what I wanted.
Buying cars is such a beating. Took 3.5 hours to complete the process.
My first non Honda since getting an '88 5-dr Integra in '90 and first non Japanese ever.
Traded in a '02 EP3 Civic Si with 282,671 miles. Bought it in 10/02 with 46 miles so the car had treated me good. Drive train was still great but the suspension bushings were shot, needed its 3rd new cat and had other nagging issues.
First thing I noticed (which I didn't notice while test driving) is the Civic has 10x the cubby-hole/storage space. The shifter, in the dash, frees up a lot of room and the new 'radios' take up a lot of space.
Short sidewall tires ride rougher.
Torque, still miss revs of my long ago departed B18C1, but the little turbo does go when the go pedal is pressed.
Little cars have gotten big.
Got 34.7 mpg (indicated) on the drive home, will be interesting to what my commuter mpg will be.
Sleeping wife so I couldn't attack my favorite on/off ramps.
Don't plan any mods, if I were more ambitious I'd paint the wheels black.
