You guys realize that people are still going to die next year, right? And regardless, the frequency of people dying has no relation to the point that it's been arbitrarily decided in our calendar that one year would end and another would begin. The only concrete measurement that we cannot change is the length of a year. All other quantifiable properties of time are just shit we've made up.

Surely 2016 is a spike in the stats for famous people though. It's nothing in the grand scheme of things, but worth noting in relation to other years, plus the fact that it involves many people that we relate to and care about.
