I know a few of us have been watching because a certain user may be involved in the series.

Who else watched the races this weekend?

GT4 America will record if you have 'Pirelli World Challenge' added to your library, but I don't think they're broadcast live. It'll just pop in on a random Tuesday at noon three weeks from now.

It appears our favorite hotshoe did not run. But you all know who I am rooting for.....

I had no idea that Saleen had a new sports car. Look pretty dang cool even it is probably vaporware

He did, but there was a glitch with the Driver ID's all weekend. His car had the other driver, Tyler Stone, displayed on the coverage's UI at all times, regardless of who was driving.

From what we could tell, Stone started race 1 and then swapped over to Bryan, who made up a few positions.

In race 2 Bryan started and then we can't tell when they swapped over because of all the yellows and timing confusion.

Interesting. When I watch the two videos above I don't see Tyler Stone or the Techsport team........

NM, I see the videos above are from 2022.

Oh I'm an idiot, I embedded the wrong ones!

Fixed, the right videos are embedded above now.

We did our driver change right as the last FCY came out. The same strategy worked out great for the #22 car resulting in 3rd in ProAm and 5th overall. We in the #23 had a long pit stop and got less benefit from the strategy. Finished I think 14th overall, 7th in ProAm, after starting something like 36th overall.

Ah ok! Thanks for clarifying :)

It was fun "watching" you together on the group chat as your car kept going upwards on timing & scoring.

Go to 7:35 to see Bryan's teammate talking about the car for a couple of minutes:

That picture of the car squatting and the picture of the car on two wheels is "Dat Ass" worthy.

I gotta make one of these in Forza.

I was telling him how hard it was going to be with the way the stripes fade out, and we discussed if I did do the original paintjob or the new Frankenstein look it has now.

So it's a race-prepped chassis and not a turn-key race car?

It's a homologated GT4 car that you purchase from Nismo Japan.

Oh yeah, now I see there are couple of very thin strings pulled to the rear of the car...

Most likely used as a visual check to see if whether Cuda messed the car up! :p

There are going to be four Nissans in GT4 America this year across three different teams, but I have to post that info in this thread and not another one *cries*

WE STILL LOVE NISSAN AND THAT THEY HAVE SUPPORTED DRIVERS FOR AS LONG AS THEY HAVE.

But also disappointment is inevitable.

Thanks. Yeah, it's a tough one. On the one hand I'm excited to see how the new cars do, and with more teams this year. I was the chief test driver at the first US test for the newly-completed 2024 car last fall and it was not only faster than the old one, the feeling and feedback the driver got from it is so much better. It's going to be a super fun car to race. On the other hand, when I miss out on a drive like this I get so disappointed that in a way I want nothing to do with it anymore. Sonoma is 3.5hrs drive from me and it could be a good idea to show my face in paddock but I know networking is not my strong suit and missing out on driving would be so hard on me, I am not sure I want to go. I am a dying breed of racer who has no money and tries to make it on skill alone. This is the one thing I'm good at and have real passion for, so I feel pretty lost without it. But I understand the racing world needs huge money to turn, and the climate is almost totally geared towards the wealthy self-funded driver these days. I'd say I got into racing too late in history to make a career out of it based on skill, but on the other hand my timing was right with GT Academy and I probably wouldn't have gotten my foot in the door without that world's first type of program.

Is anything cooking with Forsberg and his team?

And I agree that it would be good to be out there at the first race, ESPECIALLY as the chief test driver. It is inevitable that teams and drivers will have thoughts and questions, and as a non-affiliated third party with experience they will at least informally seek you out. There are going to be so many people there for which it will be their first event with the car. And, if it's like at Indy last year, there will be a bunch of Nissan engineers who probably know you and could act as liaisons when those customers are looking for answers.

Maybe think of it less as networking and more as having a good time around something you love and oh yeah you happen to be an expert that lots of people might need in a pinch. Say hi to people you know at Techsport, Nissan, etc, that way people will know you're there and staying positive, but just keep it moving and see what happens. You don't have to play the game, let it come to you.

And hopefully in the future Nate will finally start his infosec company, get rich, and then he can fund everything!

I've built a lot of race teams while day dreaming about "if I won the lottery" and with cuda and tomo at the wheel and Keith running strategy we win a lot of championships. ;)
