I can't imagine for one second they either all have an offer of a show together or they have irons in the fire already. I doubt this was 'Oh, BTW guys, FIRED!! Thanks though!'. Apparently Kari has been working with the White House to try and get more girls to do Sciency and Engineery stuff. Apparently Grant did some series himself recently and I doubt Tori will be out of work either.

I carpooled to a Reds game with slm's future a few weeks ago. He was so proud of his custom home stereo setup, where each speaker was driven by its own 600/1000 watt/peak mono amp, and they both had dual wiring, so rather than two speaker wires a piece they were driven by four per speaker.

And he continued his interesting habit of being physically molested by all physical noises inside the office, even with his noise suppression ear muffs on, but then wanting the music cranked. He acts as if he can't concentrate or have any conversation with even a water cooler or microwave being used in the office, but he's more than willing to have a yelling conversation over thumping music.

Hurrah for what will hopefully be a week of warm weather and beaches. Fingers crossed my friends and I don't kill each other, as it is rather an interesting cross section of personalities going.

Has anyone ever felt like their life has so many insane coincidences relating to the people in it that you question if maybe you're making up people in your own head, Fight Club style? Is that even psychologically possible? You know, to just go so far off the rails that you're imagining people? What about if you mainly only communicate with them electronically? Is it possible that I'm writing all of these replies to myself in my sleep under a different account? Maybe occasionally I'm going so insane that I manage to actually imagine a real meeting with this person? Is that possible? How do I tell if they're real?

Most women probably stress out a lot over what clothes to wear on a first date... Me? I'm just trying to figure out what car to drive. The weather will be nice, so I feel that the Milan is off the table. Does the Lotus say "Trying too hard?" If so, maybe the Miata is the subdued yet still classy choice. It's worth noting that it's unlikely that this outing will involve anyone but me riding in the car, so any concerns about the difficult ingress/egress of the Lotus are nullified.

Sometimes its hard to read a person, especially women. Case in point, a lady at work is very sweet and very friendly towards me. I don't know if she is just being that way because that's just her nature or if she's actually flirting. I'm so fucking clueless that I have no idea. About a month ago I got back late on a Saturday and she was the only one there. As I was doing my paperwork she asked me "what's your story?" I gave her the quick version and asked what her story was. Turns out she's single. Very tall. Very pretty. A smile that lights up a room and I've told her so. It's definitely going to be interesting.

One of the two operations managers for my warehouse is irritated I'm leaving some information he wants off an update I have to send out at 2:30am.

His solution? Get upset and harass one of the supervisors thats there when I am until the supervisor tells me.

We'll completely ignore that I've had two weeks of training when it should have been at minimum 4 for the position and wasn't told I needed to include this information in the first place. We will instead concentrate on the fact that I am apparently not worth direct contact with so he can't simply reply to the email asking for the information and the fact I have been doing these updates the SAME WAY DAILY FOR TWO WEEKS before it became an issue. Two weeks worth of daily updates and he couldn't have mentioned it before, or since he is usually still there when my shift starts, send me an email or simply stop out and talk to me for 3 minutes on his way out of the complex since he literally has to pass the building I work in to get in or out of the property.

You know what, if it really gets that bad, I think maybe I'd rather just die than spend my life in a bunker eating canned corn. Seriously, what do people get by preparing for the absolute worst case scenario? I mean, if something horrible truly happens, what's it going to be? Like... In recent news, the Kansas City Royals have made it to the World Series. They did this from the wild card spot, and had not been to a single postseason game since 1985. They did it by sweeping all of their opponents, for an undefeated record in the postseason of 8-0. That is the first time any team has done it...ever. they also did it by beating the team with the best record in baseball, and also against the team with the most home runs.

In other news, since the Royals had their postseason start, there has been no recorded murders. That is a 2 week timeframe on a city that averages just around 2 a week.

All we need to stop the violence is a little baseball ;)

Even if he does... it will be a long, difficult journey.

My stepdad had a really bad work accident (broken ribs, arm, face, brain damage) and he was in the hospital for over 3 months and a rehab facility for another 6. When he was back home it took a long time for him to be able to even do basic functions on his own, like 1.5 years from the initial incident.

He's on permanent disability and it will be a long time before he's "normal" again. :(

why? because i own a pair of 80 dollar Klipsch in ear phones and it is a waste of money to buy expensive headphones. however they sound great even at low volume, seal out other noises and fit my ears like only one other type of earbud/in ear has before and i havent seen the other ones in stores in a long time.

however i'm irritated as i've lost one of the silicone ear tips and have to order more online since no one seems to carry them in store anywhere.

i've become aware in the last two weeks how much one single person can cause disruptions within a team. oh, and also how much the guys i worked with on days are into high school drama bullshit.

this new girl was hired and started two weeks ago, she's 21, cuteish. the guys on day shift have all pretty much gone full blown horny dogs trying to get her attention. one guy added her on facebook basically the day she started which has caused him to fight with and ultimately breakup with his girlfriend who he has been with since high school and has a child with. from working with him before this his girlfriend was the best thing ever blah blah blah.

now this girl has had two weeks training, barely, and is switching to the night shift with myself and other more experienced and older employees. we haven't decided yet if our boss believes that her two weeks of training is more than enough to put her on her own or if she's simply trying to separate her from the morons on dayshift.

Leon

Drachen596
November 23rd, 2014, 11:47 AM
I suppose that is a possibility as well. Though having not been trained right and the guy at night who would be able to do so not wanting to after the company tried to throw him under the bus when they fired the last person he trained means we don't have the ability to do so.

Drachen596
November 24th, 2014, 11:41 PM
after working with the new girl tonight and talking amongst her myself and our other night guy it sounds like she wanted off dayshift due to drama and our boss obliged maybe without knowing the whole story.

no pics will be provided... though i did find out tonight that this girl likely has enough dirt in the form of sexual harassment after 2 weeks to get probably 75% of the guys on dayshift fired because they're all horny morons.
the guy supposed to be training her actually said "if our boss asks you if you're ready to be on your own tell her no because i spent this week of training flirting with you and not actually training"

btw, it does sound like this girl wants to be on night shift away from those guys and has told our boss this, the boss DOES NOT know of the high school drama shenanigans taking place.

if we didnt work together and she was interested i wouldn't be upset or opposed to dating her. that said, not getting into the drama with the day shift morons and her since i still have to work with all of them though far less hours with the day shift guys. also, her mom works in our front office for setting up outbound loads and her moms boyfriend is our spotter at nights.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt when I can but there are way too many allegations against Bill Cosby for me to not think that there's something to them. This is the guy who has many times given crap to other comedians for working blue and it turns out that he's molested or raped a lot of women. I wish it wasn't true. I loved the Cosby Show. The thing I find really weird about the whole Cosby thing is that I remember some of these allegations coming out like 10 years ago (Around the time of the Democratic Nat'l convention that Obama made that big speech at, maybe?)
Ever since - "Cosby is maybe a date rapist," has been in my head pretty much every time he came up. And then - Hannibal Burress, who I love, but most people had never heard of or seen before does a bit about it onstage and it's suddenly giant news?

Australians (and by some measure our Pommy brothers and sisters) have very recently had our childhoods betrayed by Rolf Harris, so we know where you're coming from.

If there could be a scale of sex-offender-crime badness, I'm sure that rape is nowhere near as horrific as kiddie fiddling, but as soon as a guilty verdict is handed down you can begin to truly appreciate how much of a cunt the accused really is, and that allows you to hate them in the proper fashion.

Sometimes you really need to pay attention to what is written on your clothing or hat. Case in point, today a coworker was making a delivery to a small diner and as he walked in several patrons suddenly got up and promptly locked themselves in a restroom until he left. Turns out he was wearing a ball cap that said "US BORDER PATROL". The owner of the diner asked him if he was really Border Patrol, he said "no", then he was asked why he was wearing that hat and he said to "cover my head". He now has a hat with our employer's name and logo on it.

There is only 1 unit per floor that is 3 bedroom. So, I cross referenced that with the county tax records to see who uses a different mailing address for their unit. These 5 units are potential rentals or maybe someone's 2nd home.

We were split into groups to do a scene and were given lines to work with. I was teamed up with a young man and woman, neither of which was older than 20. The lady is on a sports team, fit, with nice blue eyes. The scene involved the young lady's character trying to get my character to tell her how he feels about her. At one point, we were trying different ways to deliver our lines. She got right in my face, looked into my eyes and delivered her line, "So how do you feel about me?" I gotta admit, it got this old guy kind of flustered by her convincing performance.

this is both good and bad for me. 7 days a week is a great paycheck especially with double time on the 7th day. downside is however many weeks of 77 or 78 hours a week straight with no real time off except for the upcoming holidays of Christmas Day and New Years Day. yeah.. thats right i'd be working on New Years Eve if they're working in the warehouse. they did last year.

I was doing my daily routine of fucking around on Facebook when I noticed my niece posting A LOT of pics of her and her brother. Then I read a post from my nephew's cousin about feeling lost and totally sad. I read a little further and realized that my nephew's dad had died. A quick call to my dad's wife and she tells me he committed suicide. I knew him for thirty years and never thought he'd do this. FFS.

Thanks guys. The ones I'm concerned about the most are my nephew, his sister and their dad's mom. Can't even imagine what's going through their heads right now.

I've seen a lot of weird cross bred dogs over the years, but I think poor Wilbur might take the cake. Poor fella is a Rottweiler/Corgi mix. Ad here (http://www.muttville.org/mutt/wilbur-2709?return_to=%2Fmutts%2Favailable%2F4%23wilbur-2709).

That's some class 4 crazy behavior right there, proceed with caution. If the situation escalates to class 3, terminate the mission. If it goes to class 2, evacuate the area.

If things weren't fucky enough already, I got a text late last night telling me my step-sister is in the hospital. Called her today and found out she had a "mild" heart attack. Something on the left side of her heart wasn't getting enough blood flow. I told her to try and stick around for a while because her son really needs her right now.

We all like crazy, anyone who says otherwise is lying.

Crazy does not equate to good though...well maybe in some areas. I'd follow slms suggestion.

As a connoisseur of crazy, I can say that it's important to be able to pick out the proper flavor and intensity of crazy. You don't want to go too crazy because you'll never be able to keep that train on the tracks. It will just keep flying off like a slot car with worn out magnets piloted by a naive toddler. If you're going to get involved with crazy, you need someone who's got a handle on the crazy.

No one's telling you you can't have crazy just like no one will tell you you can't scale Mount Everest. You just have to understand the risks and know what you're doing. In either case, if you don't, you may end up with a sharp object being driven into your spleen.

talked with new girl for about an hour and 20 minutes after our shifts tonight. figured out the reason for the hugs and a lot of other things.
voiced my concern that with the other issues she's had at work i'm not sure how randomly hugging me would make her look.

i still think she's cute as hell but i'm not going to try and date her, not at this point in time anyways. there's a lot going on and i'm sure i wouldn't be helping at all.

Killing time during a slow night at Hooters, me and a few of the girls were playing Catch Phrase. When "Owl" was the word, I just pointed at the owl on the shirt of the girl next to me and said "one of these."

"Booby!"
"Boob!"
"Titty!"
"Nipple!"
"Bra!"

By the time they got to owl, it was anti-climactic.

She sounds like the focus of vast amounts of drama.

I could be reading too much of my own background / issues into this reply, but while women who seem to need to be rescued are good in that you get to be a white knight and stuff ... well, typically there is a reason they need to be rescued (not always, but usually). That reason being their own issues.

I "rescued" a workmate who was in a messed up relationship, and she became my flatmate.

That was all very exciting.

Then she turned out to have a serious drinking problem, and then went back to drug use.

So at that stage I asked her to depart. The only saving grace was that by then, I had resigned from the job where I used to work with her. She was one of the major reasons I left that job, couldn't take that much crazy.

i'll likely be fighting the crush on her for a while but it'll pass. it's not like shes interested in me anyway.
i also have no interest in being involved in the drama.

i feel vaguely disappointed and relieved with my decision.

I "rescued" a girl who was in a bad relationship, and she fairly quickly became my roommate. We had a lot of great sex and then she met a guy and got married and had some kids.

So nyah.

I just want to say that Albanese brand gummy bears may be the best gummy bears I've ever had. If not, they're definitely the second best. They make Haribos taste like shit, and they're cheaper too! A 5lb bag is like $8!
