I'm going to dress up as Cam... from the waist down.

I realized recently that Friday Practice at COTA is Halloween. Not sure what I want to do about that....

The way work is going I'll be dressed as an Exel employee.

Mandatory overtime sucks.

I'll be moving into my new house if everything goes accordingly. So I don't know if I will be doing much of anything.

I'm hosting a party next weekend. The rule is guests have to dress up as a 'normal' character then zombify them.

I'm going as Phantom of the Opera. I bought a cracked Ivory pattern mask and a cape off eBay, the rest will be classy clothing from my wardrobe.

And a fair bit of zombie makeup and blood!

Had a party like that and some guy came as a zombie-fied plastic green army man, which I thought was pretty awesome. Zombie Plastic Green Army Man then proceeded to get blotto and streaked his makeup down the hall wall, which I thought was about the worst thing ever.

Last Halloween I was in Tokyo where in that delightful Japanese way it is interpreted as 'dress up really slutty and get laid'. This year I'll be in China where sadly I suspect it's not quite the same.

Pretty sure that's actually just how it is....

At the Halloween party this year, we yet again did a murder mystery game. My character this year was the class clown, tasked with telling as many corny and/or dirty jokes as possible. The double entendres flowed like water.

My plan is to ignore this overcommercialised and utterly pointless children's festival which is for some reason beloved by American adults, and to carry on with life as usual.

You should go to Tokyo

Halloween is the only holiday worth a damn because it's an actual party rather than corporations telling you to buy stuff for family and friends.

Lot of truth with that. Why can't we just party everyday?

I, for one, will recognize the results of 1960s-1970s gay San Francisco Castro District residents making Halloween a holiday where adults including women feel free to wear skimpy costumes.

IMOA, don't worry your self. There are still sluts in China.

Yeah, and they're slutty year-round, so there's no need to just go hunting on Halloween.

Chinese people are just boring.

Yeah, my plan is just to carve some pumpkins and then wait for little goblins to come take my candies as usual. However, my daughter might be old enough to go trick or treat, but we still don't allow her candy yet... So not sure what well do.... We do have an Elmo costume ready in case she really wants to do what other kids are doing..., for now, I'm just gonna delay it for as long as possible. Like I said, Chinese people are boring.

Now do we all understand why it's a good idea to get dressed up for Halloween?

Although, it did take forever to clean up the house this morning. Not a good thing with a hangover.

I'm debating what to do. On one hand there are a couple parties I've been invited to, one is through the school and sounds lame, the other is at a club and sounds like a fucking hassle because I fucking hate clubs. Also was considering going to that area of town and doing street shooting...

No pain, no gain man. Sometimes you gotta suck up the boring shit to get some action (of whatever sort). Most of the time, in fact.

Having said that, my prediction is that you will miss everything due to your fucked up sleep patterns, then post something about how you did so and how you need to get out more.

Onboard with this.

We are skipping parties, downtown, everything tonight. I feel a little bad about it, but not bad enough to do something else. ;)

thesameguy
October 31st, 2014, 11:00 AM
Not grinchy - just tired. I probably should have planned better but we went to two shows this week and have a commitment tomorrow evening. I need a night off, and sadly that's tonight. If I can muster the energy we'll go downtown late, but based on the amount of bourbon at home that needs drinking before the end of the year, I feel like I should probably combine that commitment with my laziness and take tonight off. It is nights like these that make me miss living closer to the action - I miss the inspiration that comes from hearing it. All I get now is the sound of spawn running around in the street, reminding me to use lots and lots of birth control. That is not festive.

I wore khakis, a red polo, a headset and made a custom nametag and went as Jake from State Farm.

It was a huge hit, and I actually won Most Creative at the party, lol!

Edit: for our non-US friends, it's a well known advert...

I went and stayed for a bit, but with a police truck already circling the neighborhood and people not just smoking but rolling weed out in the open, I decided I was cool for the night.
