They are completely different games, it depends entirely on whether you want a singleplayer open world exploration+melee combat experience or a multiplayer stage-based shooter experience.

I went for Assassins Creed, haven't regretted it, awesome game. Makes a change too, so many first person shooters.
Damn this game is tough on GPUs though. I don't think any other game requires as much GPU power.
