    Pretty much. Did this yesterday:

The heat gun took much of the material off in a fairly routine fashion. Almost all of it came off easily, but the stuff on the floor between the trunk and rear seats is awful, still working on that.
You can see on the trans tunnel that regular paint thinner removed the leftover adhesive. Which is great, I expected that job to be much more difficult. The only problem is it really gunks up the scrub pads and rags that I'm using.

Lots of time going into this task. My Dad came over and cut off a bunch of unneeded brackets, so that was a big help.

Always Evolving!...wait, that's not my brand...

Took the drivetrain out. Need to source a new motor shortly. Also going to refresh the transmission with new shift detents, pivot pin, racier clutch, etc.

Drained the oil and found this steady stream of flakes in the oil, all kinds of colors in there:

My Dad came up with this makeshift paint booth. He's going to start painting the interior this week so we can send it to the cage builder on June 4th.

In the meantime, I'm heading down to Texas with Tyler so we can compete in the Time Trial in his FR-S. Looking forward to that. Old friends, new car. What's not to love?

Still trying to go to the competition school in this car in August, and if possible put Phil in it for the Time Trial that's happening the same weekend.

My step-Dad put this coat of primer down while I was away today:

Taking it up to the cage builder on Friday morning. We'll put the semi-gloss gray coat(s) on tomorrow and Wednesday.

Have to place orders for a ton of parts so we can get it back together in time for my school in August. Really I'd like to get it assembled before the end of July so I can get a test day or two in before school.

He said it better than I could.

Awesome project. Not just the car, but the time and space and money and interest and know-how and Dad(s) and the good times to come. Really cool.

If you don't get it done in time you might lose the shop!

    2019.

Oil pump shaft sheared off and the driver continued about two more miles at 6k rpm. Probably because I told him to ignore the oil light for unrelated reasons.

That was a bad weekend for cars at NCM, both in our group and others. I saw too many cars going through the grass and into walls for my first amateur time trial experience.
Get that weak shit off my track

It's also the biggest and longest TTNT event of the year.

Also, shit happens. Get the insurance.
