    In addition to the above:

We were 22 laps deep into a green flag run. Everyone was able to navigate a half-dozen lapped cars without incident, plus another group of lapped cars that were 2x2 and helpfully split themselves to let this huge lead pack go by. And then...

    - Lap 46 out of 50
    - Running 2nd in the top row
    - Trying to push the car ahead to get it to take the lead of the inside row, so that I could lead the top row
    - Then I get a bump from the 3rd car on the inside row

Someone on voice chat commented that this was a really good save.

There was another crash two laps later that led to a green/white/chequered. I ended up finishing 7th after a subsequent wreck. Big time.

This race was very stressful, but I loved it.

Reminder: there's a Black Friday sale on until November 30, with subscription renewals 25% off. Best do it now for that excellent iRacing value for money.

I think you and I are the only ones left here that race regularly. I mean, maybe. We're the only ones that post about it.

Blerpa, how is your racing going lately? Retsmah? Anyone? Bueller?

I had a pretty thrilling finish to the KGT race yesterday. I was the top-rated Audi in second split. It was pretty much a two car race at the front. #7 qualified on pole and I was second. I made a few silly mistakes, like blowing the chicane a couple of times, that caused me to fall back. He eventually took damage from a wall hit that allowed me to catch back up on the last lap.

What was that extra chicane on the front straight?

It's the "NASCAR Road" layout. There is an extra chicane just at the pit entrance using big sausage curbs. It is bad.

I haven't done an offical race in ages. A rather demanding 3 year old seems to have killed that for now.
Weekday evenings? Nope as she doesn't want to go to sleep. Then when she does, it's time to start getting ready for the next day.
Weekend during the day? Forget it!
I renewed my membership, so I'm still there, may pop up in practice sessions when I can get 10mins to myself.

Actually, in all honesty, iRacing has been such a relevation for me. An absolute eye-opener in terms of how good sim racing can be.

I came into it off a few years in GT Sport. And GT is famous for stubbornly refusing to copy anything from other games, but it did copy the scheduled official races, the driver and safety ratings, and the concept of distinct categories to race with from iRacing as a whole package deal. So when I came into iRacing I was already somewhat familiar with how it would work, except that iRacing takes it to a whole other level.

I’ve enjoyed so much of iRacing, even though it seems I have abandoned road racing altogether to focus on oval. It’s basically what I do in the evenings if I’m not otherwise busy. Plus I’ve dropped an insane amount of money on hardware to facilitate being a degenerate sim racer, which I really would not have done if it wasn’t for iRacing.

God, I really need to do an enduro again. It has been more than a year. Team racing is SO good. I think it’s my favourite part of all the things that iRacing does.

I’m here and enjoy enduros. My bro might be able to join us if we can find one we can do together. Maybe next season?
