Oh man, sorry to hear that SW. Condolences.

She died of cancer. She had only just turned 70 in November of 2023. Not sure how many here are familiar with my Strava biography...So I was actually a little bit younger.Moved from England to Canada in 1963, when I was 7 years old. Dad bought me a real bicycle for my 16th birthday.
I wish you comfort, Adrian.

Looks like at the very start they caught the last of those who broke away. You can see the team work to get the eventual winner going fast at the front.
+70 km/h for twenty seconds looks brutal.
peak power was rated at almost 2000 watts.

Saw a fellow cyclist on my ride today wearing arm warmers, but no shirt.
So I nought a new bicycle. Thought it was on 30% discount, but eventually realized I had baited-and-switched and upsold myself. Hmm. Or perhaps something different. Oh well, I have difficulty getting things done... Perhaps I have a personality defect which prevents me from getting angry even when I realize logically I should be angry.

Boy the Kitchener store sure is swamped with repair business. They post a 3 to 5 day wait for repairs and they don't seem to be able to afford to do some of the usual niceties for recent sales. Walk-in fitting extra accessories and stuff.
Yesterday I did a test ride 12km each way to the store and back, learning how to navigate under the highway and such. Oh yes, over the LRT tracks too...
So this gets me in something with modern up-to-date equipment, primarily thru-axles, and lots of gear range for my aging legs. Though HYDRAULIC disk brakes would seem to be an annoying unnecessary complexity.
When I rode it, I observed I can and should pretty much ignore the small chainring under normal conditions. But those gears will be there for interesting situations. With my other bicycles, I need to be on the small chainring for sensible starting.
Funny how in the catalog picture they do not show those silly clear plastic reflectors fitted to the wheels. Mine fell off. After I turned the screw-like latch with an appropriate large screwdriver, they fell off.

Man, that's pretty.
I hope the steel frame is as comfortable as they say it is.

I bought new shoes and gloves today. My old shoes are falling apart.
