I'm now trying my second rogue like game, and can confirm that I do not like the format. I don't like having to fight the same bosses over and over again just because I couldn't beat some boss that comes after them, and I'm not all that interested in high level, perfect timing and positioning or you die gameplay.

I'm with you.
Other people seem to lap it up.

Chad bro attitude is that games must be hard and you have to get good or die (virtually) multiple times trying... to be a R3@L gamer.
I see only ingrained toxicity and masochism as a lame effort to prove oneself worthy in the face of "heroic" sacrifice and martyrdom.
No wonder souls-like have been created in Japan.
Also once you strip away the bosses battles and the combat system... you easily realize the story and lore of the game is a unweldy crutch to support the combats.
Like that vague Elden Ring plot, amid PS3 graphics and a character slower than a special olympics' athlete to move around.
Fuck that.
Thankfully other games are existant and cheats too.
