Brett (the elder), was arrested with two other classmates shortly after high school, and they all did prison time for Grand Larceny/Burglary/etc (they were breaking into homes and stole snow mobiles/etc).

Of the three, he (Brett) served the least amount, because he made a deal (against the other two, life long friends).

Side note: One of the other two, after 7 years, got a DUI, which is a felony in this instance. He did another 2-3 for that. When he got out, he thought it was a good idea to tie up his girlfriend (http://kpcnews.com/article_852951c5-8d59-5bfe-8156-1ab6c26eefaa.html) (the mother of one of his children) for the weekend, have his way with her, and threaten to kill her, their daughter, and himself. Then he just unties her that Monday morning, where she went straight to the cops. He was in cuffs within the hour. Ultimately, doing 25 mandatory for it. He plead a deal to get that (the best he could do). He was up for 106 years, due to three strikes/habitual offender (technically, with the charges with the confinement, I think it was going to be felonies 3, 4, 5, and 6).

He went in right before our 15 year class reunion. I think he's due to get out in 2030.

Very obedient to everything I say. Even if he is wound up and angry, I would have complete control by voice. That way in case he started to get riled up at a time he wasn't, I could voice him down. Nothing crazy like an attack dog. Just something extremely loyal and extremely disciplined.

UA incident for sure qualifies for 'epic' in terms of fails.

It probably would've been cheaper to fly those 4 crew members in CEO's private jet.

Now there's gonna be lawsuits and the CEO will probably end up losing his job..., but that's okay, he'll probably still get millions in bonuses.

What were they thinking. From employees to CEO... Mind boggling. I kept thinking that must be fake news or sensational journalism..., but no, it actually happened.

Paid customer can be beaten up and dragged off the plane in USA just because airline fucked up and couldn't send 4 crew members to the right place at the right time. What's more amazing is that those 4 crew member didn't really need to be there right away... their flight was for the next day. Probably could've flown on another airline if that was indeed UA's final flight to that destination... Anyway, just unbelievable. Was all that worth it?

Just keep on raising the incentive, surely somebody will eventually take it. UA doesn't know about the existence of lawyers in America? Or perhaps they think it's easier to pick on asians. Can't touch white people... don't want to upset blacks anymore... Trump is already too hard on the Mexicans... and didn't dare to offend Muslims... so they randomly selected an asian dude. Wonder how this will turn out.

I thought FAA had changed rest requirements so they didn't start until the crew was AT the hotel they were staying at. This means the crew would have to be there the day before their flight to meet rest requirements.

UA handled things absolutely terribly but its their plane and refusing to leave could be considered trespassing regardless of the reason. The backlash and what its going to cost them will for sure be higher than a years worth of free flights for whoever volunteered to be bumped.

On the other side, can you imagine being one of the crew that was the reason people were bumped off the flight and having to sit with the people who know exactly what happened?
